Big business and teacher's who do not care, have fooled us into believing that thanksgiving is a day of pleasure and feasting, this is far from the truth. The roots of thanksgiving go back to a celebration of a retaliation killing, massacre's, enslavement and worse for the Native Americans.  Once the pioneers started coming west, more were killed on their journey by other pioneers then Native Americans.
Tell big business where to stuff their turkey this year and do something nice for a person, maybe  a Native American if you can find one.

Below; we excavated out 100 yards of dirt and rock, installed 2 French drains, 1 behind the retaining wall, 1 in the center of the field that lead to the end of the property. We installed the retaining wall, the blocks way 65 pounds each, installed the fence and put down 30 yards of 3 in 1 soil andl. Yep, that's a skunk in our 8 foot deep septic tank hole! Here we are, 3 old farts and a 10,000 pound tank that needs to go in this hole. The neighbor lady comes over with her 357, just a side note here, every country gal I know that packs, likes the 357 mag. round!.  So we are not going to kill a skunk in cold blood and none of us 3 want to flatten him with the tank. Brother Bob is ready to go down with a blanket and try to cover him and then snatch and grab as we could not get him to go up the board we dropped in. Times flying by, it stinks, and Annie Oakley is ready to cap the little guy with her 357. We end up  lowering the excavator bucket down and for some reason he walks in and we get him up out of the hole, spraying the whole way and hits the ground running.

What to do when a big  tree comes down on your house? {this is my house, April of 2017}  Haul it to the saw mill and make some cool lumber!! We did all the work, from the ground floor to the roof. Dealing with good hands {so called insurance company} was the worst experience to date....

Steep gravel drive ways with big pot holes are my favorite.
John, Bob,I’ve been meaning to write this for a long time.

John and Bob, Kate and I want to thank you for the wonderful contributions you’ve made since we moved to our property two years ago.  The pole building you built continues to serve the needs of our animals – your attention to quality is much appreciated.  The fencing you erected for our pasture has kept our animals inside and predators outside!  The work you did to rebuild our road has made a huge difference, and your ability to make repairs after the recent flood was so helpful.  These are just a few of the many ways you’ve served us.  And I want to say that we also are very appreciative of the good spirit you bring when you visit.  We’re always eager to see you.

These words don’t do full justice to the quality and effectiveness of your support for us.  Please know that you’re making a big difference in our lives.  Merry Christmas!

Richard Howells & Assoc.

First time in my life a rainbow has ended on my property, and a double at that!!
Another FIRST in Oregon and for sand filters, { but not for brother Bob, he is use to being the first at doing things}  The black hose has never been installed until Bob brought the fact up to inspectors and the only company that installs the above ground concrete sand filters, that to code, a air line is needed and the fact...well you can call Bob to find out more....503 459 3587.... more pictures under no 1 sandfilter
FIRST ABOVE GROUND SAND FILTER SYSTEM WITH A PUMP TO BE INSTALLED IN OREGON...Not just another sand filter installation. Bob engineered the WHOLE process; Pump curves, friction loss, and then it gets complicated..After installing so many we have our own process that works very well.  We build the sand filter "plumbing" from scratch, and we,..... well best to call Bob for more information....503 459 3587 ***FIRST IN OREGON***
I do retaining walls, but mostly only if the job needs it.  In this case to get the horse arena level we needed to install the wall to hold back 700,000 pounds{seven hundred thousand} of drain rock, 3/4 minus and coarse sand, and a riding horse... The black pipe is part of a drain system that runs along the bottom of the wall.  It will be buried in a trench and then come to "daylight" to drain rain water out of the way...

What to do when GRANDPA keeps running the "D" box over. {the d box is a concrete distribution box with a thin concrete lid for septic systems} In this case the box was installed way to high {but that's another story} so we enlarged the area over the box and installed a 1/2 steel plate. After packing 3/4 minus gravel on top the steel plate, GRANDPA will be able to drive over the d box to get to his parking stall for as long as he wants with no effect on the d box..

I enjoy decks and patios over 3 or 8 feet or more.  Different heights need different framing codes.

Working in the West Hills of Portland, the start of 1 of 4 lots to be prep ed for homes.  The stump is 4 feet across and the roots are 2 feet across, the biggest stump I have pulled yet.  City work is a little different, they sure like taken my pictures for some under Scoots West Hills
Below, my first site prep. where I was in charge of everything.  All the paper work, permits, meetings with the county, the firemen, the manufactured home builders, and more, D.O.T. for the driveway work, P.G.E. for the electric, F.E.M.A. and other flood groups, the green way people, and more. I ran the water from the well head, electric from the pole to the house, all the excavating for the pad and driveway and front yard, the hydro splitter septic system, Bob, that's me, designed, arranged for the house move on, I am not a landscaper but I have built many retaining walls and planted way to many lawns. Just needs Julian's family to move in...............
The trench to blue city diesel, lavender train wreck, dog walker, and etc.  Good, bad, or ugly, the new marijuana laws sure have created  new jobs and work in the community.  PGE is overwhelmed with work is an understatement.  And the names these young people come up with for their product is pretty creative.  The 3 foot deep trench about a 1/2 mile long, went through the woods, under driveways, past giant rocks manuvered out of the way and chain sawed roots cut out of the way, for 3 big electric vaults to carry the electric cable to a green house.  Seems like a good thing to keep the money in the community, and I have seen the medical part first hand, but time will tell how it works out with the real young people.....

Who wants a cigar????? See below.........Joel and Holly's new home 2/25/15......Yep, I am way back in the woods.....

They said it could not be done, to wait till spring, but here is Julians new home2/21/15. "They" wanted me to wait {my customers wanted a home}                       because the site is on a flood plain and "green area" and Fema made me jump through hoops, and maybe a truck got stuck here and there and                        I did need the crawler to get the house lined up, but I would say the paper work was the longest and most frustrating part of the process, I
handle All the paper work, permits and appointments. I will run the electric and water to the house, and install a hydro splitter septic system....
Now if my next move on for Feb. 25 for Joel & Holly on the Molalla flood plain goes as smoothly, I will be handing out Cuban cigars.  Molalla is a much wetter area then Happy Valley....And I have to install a sand filter system half way up a wooded mountain, after I cut a trail up to it for our tractor....
Not only is Daisy Peel {} a State and National champion but she and her crew are world champions!! And she lives right here in Clackamas County.  This is her huge dog arena I maintain with sand and have cut in extra parking areas when her business grew, regraded her big driveway, excavated the back yard, redirected her drainage problem, Daisy keeps me busy and I look forward to call backs for many years from all my customers.

Big old stump filled my dump truck and then some......

And fireWOMEN too!!  Brett is the first firewomen I have worked for and what a nice person and a positive influence in my community. I always have discounted our quotes for Veterans, firepeople, sheriff's {yep, I still get tickets} and man {people} of the cloth. I have worked for them all.
This is my second septic system in 3 days, not my record, but I like to keep busy for a little company.......
A couple years back I contracted  a terrible, at times, home wrecking passion called gold fever.  After  a bunch of big holes on my farm, gallons and gallons of diesel burned up, and countless hours of work with basically nothing to show, I thought I was cured of the disease.....Then I get a call from Todd Hoffman of Gold Rush fame and I get hired to do some tractor work. After swapping stories with Todd I have come to realize it is pretty tough to lose the gold passion....Yep, thanks Todd

Every year I try to grow as a company by adding equipment or different types of work.  This year I am partnering up with Carol Senna, owner / designer of MELINGO STUDIO landscape design to offer my customers natural / living pools.  These are pools that use plants as water filters not nasty chemicals. I would like to make it clear we did NOT build the living pool below.  It is a pool in Europe. my first living pool will be on my property here in Beavercreek.  Carol is drawing up the plans and I should start construction in a week or so, and I should have some good pictures up as I progress.

For some reason Craig's list keeps flagging my field of dream adds....I am not sure if it is a free speech/terrorist thing or what, but like my Dad and his Dad, we are proud to be in and of the United States of American.  I was too young for any of our wars, but I cut this into my field when our young men & women went to war with  Iraq and have maintained it ever since.  I do not know what is wrong with Craigs list, but the people who serve our country { not the politician} and have served, deserve our respect..  I am very disappointed with you Craig's list.....  To the left of the A are the call sign [numbers] for our [Portland} Air National Guard 142...The first time they sent a couple of jets to do a fly by, I thought every window in the house was ready to burst they came in so low and slow, you could almost see the pilot. On the 4th of July, 4 old WW2 planes come over the field and do a stunt where they go straight up and 1 goes north, 1 south 1 east and 1 west. The neighbors come out to watch and the kids really like it and I get to give them a history lesson without them knowing it.
A national advertising company was in contact with me, attempting to entice me into placing adds on my web site.  When I explained to the salesmen that they were only 1 step under banks as being detrimental to our families and the American way of life, and I may have compared them to a leech,  or tick. Well the young man tried to insult me by saying I was "old school" and was a "dinosaur" in my way of doing business.  Thank you!!  We are PROUD to be old school!!!   and add free....
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!  Thank you to all my old customers and my new for making 2014-15 a great time.  Had Mary not warned me that I would be cooking my own food again if I did not take some time off,  I would be working instead of writing.  As it is, I have numerous contracts that have extended into 2015 for 1 reason or another...Well, mainly I feel the Counties drag their feet instead of promoting growth in our community, and....well that is a whole different story....HAPPY NEW YEAR...
Rain water drain problems?  I can address most issues... Bob 503 459 3587
Some situations  I will let the home owner helps us out....even if they are running a John Deere
To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity.

― Douglas Adams........And you have to have a little fun.  Meet Henry, my future backhoe operator..........
1/2 way home.  Richard's driveway.  About a 1/2 mile up to the street and about a 1/2 back up to the house. 7 culverts to handle 7 creeks, almost locks and damns, the trenches are different grades, I think for water retention so none of the components get overwhelmed with water. A cavalcade of 50 some dump trucks from my favorite quarry and a bunch of my work will have this roadway ready this week. Not my longest, but holly smokes it's right up there.  So, 3,500,000 pounds of rock later I are done....Yep, three million five hundred thousand pounds of rock....Below is the before picture, I was so tired of working with rock I will have to go back for a after picture.

The road home.  Horseshoe driveway leading to the manufactured home pad.....Waiting for the county to say go.....again.....yep, still waiting, now we get to wait on Fema...I don't know if any of you remember Katrina, but it only took them a week to get ice out there...... Julians soon to be home

Below.  This is why I build to code plus.  Code is good but a good carpenter knows when a project takes more then what the code asks for. Under the giant maple tree is a barn I built a number of years back. After I removed the tree, I was able to pull the barn back to plumb and all the stall doors[double dutch doors I built} were able to open and close again.  The insurance man wanted my name as he could not belive the building was still standing.
That's Me getting the marks for Julian's manufactured home.  I aim to have his family handing out trick or treats for the that did not happen
Kate's 3 stall goat barn.  10 feet high at the opening,  8 feet on the back side, 36 feet wide and 12 feet deep.....       after
Done excavating the barn pad and now packing the gravel....Yep, that's my gate and fence work.......Before
Joel's sand filter septic system.  This is how it starts, a test pit.  The inspector will come out, walk into the test pit,{5 feet deep at one end}, take a educated look, and let you know if a leach field can go in there.   I will come out, let you know where the best spots to test, and when I am done the system will be ready to use, permits, plans, the whole 9 yards, in general....
Below,   Julian's home and my first manufactured home move on from start to finish. Arranging for the  home, pulling all the permits, drawing up the plot plan, will run the water from the well, electric, septic system, french drains, porches, and decks.  Just waiting for the "go" from the county guys.... I have done all this work before, just never from start to finish....
Doug's big stumps....preping the land for his shop....
The never ending fence for Kate...and soon goat barn
After a couple, 3 days.  Pictures under J&M's deck.... The railing company forgot 1 side of the stair way.  I will come back to install the other side when it arives.
This is my 4th year working for Eric and the good people of depave.  A few more pictures in the index under...depave
YIPPEE, number 1 again!!!  Every 3 years I have to retest for my septic license.  And once again he was the first one done and the highest score!!! Bob graduated from the University of San Francisco in Business and was number 1 in his business class of 2500!!  He went to work for Cal. Tech in Ca. and hated it. in index under ...sheds...Sean's shed was made so he could drive his lawn tractor right in by opening both doors.  If he just needs to get a shovel or some thing small, he uses the smaller door.  10 feet tall at the front and 8 feet in the back, no head hitting and room for shelves.

I'm a customer of  Robert Dinino, he just got done doing my deck which ended with plumbing and electric and fencing. He did a wonderful job!! If you need any work done you should call him. He also did the tilling for my garden, I would recommend he for any job you need.....Christine

Christine's deck, fence, electric, plumbing, and garden tilling work below and in the index under Christine's Deck.

Below...I will find, fix, repair, reroute, install new, or whatever it takes to get you up and running.  Be it gas, water, electric, septic, cable, or.  About 8 feet under. I am not locaters, that's the 811 guys.

Below;  What I brought to Karen's driveway and will bring to your driveway repair. Little hard to see but the backhoe has a rock bucket and a grading bucket, 2 gas packers, a 6 foot roller, grader, my dump truck is missing, and of course myknowledge.  More pictures under "off road" driveways

We will be sure to stay on top of the growth on the driveway. I just can't tell you how much I appreciate all you have done. You are by far the best, most thoughtful and helpful person I have worked with. It can be such a crap shoot finding someone that is honest and does great work. Karen

Thank you all the good people of Oregon for another fun season of adventures and work  .I will say the end of this year has brought  the most success at failure as a gold prospector as anything I have ever tried!!! Having said that, there is gold in Beavercreek and I have dug it up, just so far not enough to quit my day job.    Word to the wise, I have burned more diesel then anything I have pulled from the ground.....The fever is real, unfortunately........ err,  my friend Mary {yippee, no more of my cooking!!} wanted me to expand on this a little.  I have burned WAY more diesel then I have pulled from the ground and that's not counting all the time I have taken away from the house and her.  And the best part I get way dirtier then from my real tractor and carpentry work, so you know how well that goes over......well maybe 1 more thing.  Do not take the utensil's from the kitchen for use in the field. Some of them work very well for small stuff and the occasional  wooden spoon going missing can be explained away but when the turkey baster came up missing on Thanksgiving, kinda had to man up to that one.   And once they find out you used kitchen utensil's in the field, there's no cleaning them off and sneaking them back in.  Video under gold

Hi Bob – You did a job for me a while back down here on Henrici rd and I thought of you for my next project. I would rather give my $ to you, so you tell me how much if any, you want to be involved. It’s mainly a patio cover across the back of the house but I would like to incorporate a re-roof with metal at the same time. I need some advise and cost estimates to let me know if this is going to be possible. With you I know I’m going to get honest answers and no BS.
Thanks – Mike...... Pictures under patio in index.....

Duck coming soon

My first wet land project, {but not my first} rock and gravel bridge over a creek.  Pictures under bridge in index...

Pictures and WORK too shocking for my home page.....Septic no no's in the index

My quality remains long after the price is forgotten...Pictures of my tractor attachments, tools, and what they do under "tractor, tractor 101a", tractor 101b  in the index.

Below, having permit issues?  I can build this for you.  Last time I looked, you did not need a permit for table and chairs, but I am not a lawyer.

That's Moses, He likes to keep an eye on us.  I think he knows his home is getting turned into a shop!  It's just I need a warmer place for my dump trucks and equipment. Past few days everything froze up here in too....Moses and our minis {horses} will have to share a smaller out building, out of the weather but no lights. 1 center post gone, 5 more to go..  Pictures under Barn into shop in index.....

Done.  All 6 center post are out that held up the roof and divided the barn into 10 x 10 stalls.  Now a 30 x 40 shop all free span, no supports.

The white circles are not orbs...just snow getting blown in....Not thatI haven't worked at haunted property.  I didn't mind, but the tractor sure got goofey. Felt like I was operating a tractor running on tip toes all day, besides the fact it was the only job she broke down on.

I sure am grateful to all the people of Clackamas County and beyond.  Perhaps if I were a younger man with more money, well, mostly the more money part, I could have started 2 more crews and kept us all busy I had such a demand for my work. I take small steps but by the end of the year I am not {ever} been in the red and I add more tools and equipment as I go.{ At the moment I are looking for a bull dozer}Giving up the tractor seat to a younger guy or gal, in exchange for running a few crews, seems easier each winter, but then spring comes and all is better...when it ain't raining.

Dry Paddocks for winter.... A little spendy { sand & gravel } but no more mud!!

60 some days with no rain and even working 8 days a week, I still have a 5 to 7 day backlog.  I would say about 80% of the people I work for find more work for me to do after watching me work for a 1/2 hour or so.  I always enjoy the extra work, but it sure does mess with the scheduling

A NEW HORSE MANURE SYSTEM NOW HERE IN CLACKAMAS COUNTY....There are pictures manure system... in the index  and these 4 pictures are the finished product. The ramp is wide enough for her to turn the wheelbarrow around on and still light enough to move.  Easy access for the tractor to remove the finished product when it is done cooking.

Wrap around deck pictures under; Kristy's deck and wood deck.

Omg you are too funny! :) Thank you!! I am truly sad that you  won't be around any more! We cannot thank you enough for all the hard work and TIME you put into everything. You, are an awesome and made this house look so magnificent!! Thank you for putting up with all of the planning mistakes and for always being flexible. Youu  were always willing to take on any problem. And finally, a special thanks for being so special that you just fit right into the whole family. We must stay in touch and I'll let you know when the deck is all stained and we're ready to have the ultimate barbecue on our deck :) Stay safe, healthy and busy. Talk soon,
Kristy, Ty, and sledgehammer

Extended a gravel drive, widened our drive, put in a culvert on our drive... We requested additional work above the quoted work. Extremely fair in the price for both the base job & the added work.

I don't think he will get rich this way, but I bet he can sleep at night!! He is the Good Guy!! Paul V. Beavercreek

My dear Boy...Forgot to ask you how you thought the driveway lookednow that it has settled in...You don’t know how

much I appreciate knowing there are some GOOD men folk around..Its verycomforting to me that
I can still feel like a have someone I can count on.......Oh,, you make a lady proud to know you!!!!

I called Bob  out to our Wilsonville property to take a look at leveling our arena. He came out the next day and saw we had a tractor and told me how to complete the work  with our tractor saving us money and gave other advise as to how to make the footings better. He would not take money for his time and gas driving to our site.  It's not too often you find honest, caring people in any business who will try to save others money at their expense.  I will use him for some other projects we have coming up and highly recommend his service.
Linda Z - Wilsonville, OR                           ALL my estimates are free and my knowledge is cheerfully given......John

My second new {old} dump truck. No more splitting gears, and double clutching , this came with an automatic transmission.

Where is the sun!!!!! From the gang in Beavercreek. Thank you good people of Oregon for helping make 2011 a great year! .  I am trying to teach the middle one how to answer the phone.  Judy, our secretary, cook, and house keeper, has left us for New York!! Yikes, back to my cooking........Well, a very sad day in Beavercreek, I had to put down my little dog of 17 years a few months back.  I have dug over a 100 graves {pets only, no X's}, but this one I could not dig, my brotherdid. And just when she was getting the phone answering thing down........Now a memorial.....

I had to chase the ducks out of these pot holes before I could drain them so I could work on this drive way....See all the pictures under ..big pot holes...

...that's my new road grader [in blue] on the back of my tractor. The auger is tied down because I ran out of room.  What you do not see is a rototiller in the bucket of the front of the tractor and a landscape rake in the bed of the truck. As you can see, I can do many things once I get to your site. The backhoe [not pictured] comes on and off the back in less then 5 minutes, as with the rest of the attachments.....

Only 7000 miles on a 20 year old truck....and most of those miles were on a Sunday, going to church she told us.

Big stumps, demos, clean-ups and more with my tractor loader backhoe and dump truck..

Drive-ways, pot holes, & repairs. I  first use a road grader to pull up and level the old gravel then we enlarge the pot holes with our backhoe, re pack with gravel and water, run a compact concrete vibrator plate over the hole [not pictured here], spread more gravel, water and roll with the 1000 pound roller.

My drain experience, along with my compact concrete vibrator plate, the roller, grader and my attention to detail, will fix your drive-way and parking problems for years to come.

Curtain, French drains done right.....

 Brick walk ways

Real WOOD decks and staircases...Have you seen non wood decks in the wear areas?   Not a pretty site.

Round pens..I use a transit to find the grade you want.

Seems like it was just yesterday I brought her home from the show room floor.

Complete kitchen remodel. See all the pictures, start to end.

Drop down attic ladders for the barn ,shop or house.

Well it's been 3 years now that my little dump truck has been parked, parts are just too much to keep her running.  She still has a good job holding our firewood, though we do have to tow her around the farm.My first, new/old dump truck...1969 GMC...70,000 miles!!   This truck was built with more metal then 5 of my new Dodge trucks..and it will dump 5 yards of wet gravel easy! On the road they only let us carry 5 yards....1 yard of 3/4 minus gravel is about 2700 pounds and will cover a 10 foot by 10 foot area about 4 inches thick . Most customers will have me put that as the finish layer for a drive-way...

Electric pump septic coming soon

10,000 pounds, 15 feet up in the air, and the truck is sinking....1500 gallon concrete tank with 2 compartments with an electric pump and filter system.

I had to set  the tank short of its hole.  Build a road, { the Appian Way it isn't },  and will it hold the 30,000 pound truck and 10,000 pound tank?  See more pictures under electric septic system in the index....

I have gone back and fixed up the road we made now that it has dried. .....
The drain field was so overwhelmed the inspector wanted the family out in the middle of winter but I was able to work with everybody to keep them in their home and still get the job done.  The first contractor left her hanging with just a bill for messing up their yard.  I stepped in and figured out a better way to get everything to work and it RAINED on me every day I worked their.
